Four layers, one arrival

Ordered chain — e-visa or tourist to labour TRC
Reddit threads often ask for one sequence. Here it is, without inventing shortcuts. Each step is a different office and a different statute.

Family TT and investment ĐT are different chains. TT still does not automatically erase a work-permit question if you labour. ĐT4 often fails TRC.

- Working on DL because “everyone does.”
- Assuming LĐ visa without a permit is enough.
- Using ĐT4 capital as a work exemption — it is not a TRC path either.
- Filing for a labour TRC while still holding only tourist stay paper.

Does my Vietnam visa let me work?
No as a default. A visa is an entry/stay symbol. Labour permission is a work permit or a filed exemption. A visa alone does not grant work.
What if I also have a TRC?
A temporary residence card is stay. It is not automatically a work permit. Purpose, symbol, TRC, and work rights are four decisions.
Is an e-visa different?
An e-visa is still a visa symbol. It does not become labour permission because it was issued online.
What is the ordered path from tourist or e-visa to a labour TRC?
Hire first. The employer files labour demand and a work permit (or a filed exemption). Convert stay to the matching LĐ symbol. Only then does a sponsor file the temporary residence card when the permit term and eligible list allow. An e-visa or DL stamp is not step one of that labour TRC file.
Can I get a TRC while still on a tourist stay?
Tourist / DL stay is not the TRC-eligible labour list by itself. See the dedicated page on TRC on tourist stay. Labour TRC normally needs the work-permit layer and the matching LĐ path first.
