LĐ2 — permit-required labour

The symbol most “get a work visa” blogs flatten into one tip. LĐ2 only makes sense with the permit clocks and the TRC band under it — three machines, one job.

What LĐ2 is

Work that requires a work permit (Luật Nhập cảnh Điều 8 — LĐ2 limb). It is on the TRC-eligible list (LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LĐ1, LĐ2, TT, UĐ1, UĐ2). LĐ1 is the sibling path when you have confirmation you are outside the permit-required set — see the LĐ band page for both symbols together.

TRC ≤ 2 years

LĐ2 sits in the 2 years TRC band with LĐ1 and PV1 (Luật Nhập cảnh Điều 38 khoản 5). The card cannot outrun the labour paper underneath. Sponsor files the TRC (yes).

Permit cycle (why this page stands alone)

Max duration 24 months, one renewal 24 months, cycle ceiling 48 months. Then a new issue — not an infinite stamp train. Full exemption and death-of-permit rules: work permit.

Job ends → labour notice

Losing the job is a labour event first. Immigration sponsorship duties sit on TRC (Điều 45.2.e). We do not publish a blog “15-day” exit clock that is not in the statute.

Common questions

How is LĐ2 different from LĐ1?
LĐ2 is work that requires a work permit. LĐ1 is work with confirmation that you sit outside the permit-required set. Both share the same 2-year TRC band; the labour paper underneath is different.
Does the TRC keep me working if I lose the job?
No. When the employment ends, the permit path ends under labour rules (NĐ 219 notice duties). A TRC is not a free-standing work right.
Can I renew the permit forever?
One cycle is 24 months plus one renewal of up to 24 months at law level, then a fresh issue — not endless renewals on the same cycle.
