Logistics and aviation — ports, airports, 3PLs

In plain termsForeign sales and ops leads sit in freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and airport ground handlers. Korean and Japanese logistics desks are common. That is the Vietnam-employer door. A visa alone does not grant work (no).

What people actually do

Account managers for mother-market clients, station managers, warehouse/ops leads, and aviation specialists. Headhunters post Korean/Japanese native roles in logistics alongside manufacturing — sister volume to FDI. Marine and aviation dossiers often attach pilot, cabin, maintenance, or seafarer certificates recognised by competent authorities — sector paper inside the same labour stack, not a separate visa.

Common questions

Do freight and airline expats need a Vietnam work permit?
Usually yes when a Vietnam entity employs you. Sales, operations, and station managers map to manager/expert limbs. Pilots, cabin, and maintenance roles often need sector certificates in the dossier — still on the employer door.
Is this the same as industrial-park FDI work?
Same foreign-worker stack, different geography and titles. Port, airport, and 3PL offices sit in HCMC, Hanoi, Hải Phòng, and Đà Nẵng. See also /vietnam/earn/fdi.
