Common questions

Can my landlord charge rent in US dollars?

Domestic FX pricing and payment are generally banned. A lawful lease of construction works for your own use does not turn the rent line into a dollar tariff.

What if the listing says USD and I pay VND at a made-up rate?

Pricing in FX is the banned limb, not only the notes you hand over. Quoting USD and settling in VND is still a price in foreign exchange.

I declared cash at the airport. Does that let me pay rent in USD?

No. The border declaration pair is not a domestic pricing licence.
