Indonesia stay & visa

In plain termsStay is not work and stay is not tax. Second Home is a long-stay door; RPTKA is the earn door; PER-23 is the tax door. The indexes below are not interchangeable.

Official portal

Visa applications run through the official e-Visa site (yes).

Second Home (E33)

The Second Home track exists (yes), published at 5 years validity. The Golden Visa booklet states it is not eligible to work (yes).

Published financial gates: bank deposit 130000 USD at a state-owned bank, or property worth 1000000 USD. The commitment must be fulfilled and reported within 90 days of entry.

Silver Hair (E33E)

A separate elderly track exists (yes) for applicants aged 55 years or older. Initial stay: 5 years. Published gates: state-bank deposit 50000 USD, plus monthly income / allowance proof of 3000 USD/month.

Do not merge indexesThe Golden Visa booklet's "Second Home is not eligible to work" line is about E33. The live E33E portal page uses different activity wording (yes). Read the index you actually hold — do not copy one rule onto the other.

Government-invited expert (E33A)

Index E33A exists (yes) for experts invited by the central government (yes). Stay options: 5 or 10. Published living-cost bank-statement floor: 2000 USD.

ITAS → KITAP

Limited stay (ITAS) and permanent stay (KITAP / ITAP) are the core Indonesian stay instruments (yes). For the worker / investor / clergy / elderly-tourist conversion paths published by Immigration, the minimum consecutive ITAS period is 3 years. File the conversion no later than 30 days before the ITAS expires.

KITAP validity is 5 years and may be extended indefinitely while not cancelled (yes). Long ITAS/KITAP can also evidence tax intent under PER-23 — that does not by itself grant work rights.

Common questions

What is the Second Home visa?
Index E33 on the Immigration portal and Golden Visa booklet: a long-stay track with a published 5-year validity and financial gates. The booklet states it is not eligible to work — local employment needs RPTKA and a work-class stay.
How much money do I need for Second Home?
imigrasi.go.id E33 publishes a US$130,000 deposit in your own name at a state-owned bank, or ownership of an apartment/flat worth at least US$1,000,000 — to be fulfilled and reported within 90 days of entry. Re-read the live portal before you wire funds.
What is Silver Hair (E33E)?
A separate elderly Second Home index for foreigners aged 55 or older. The portal publishes a US$50,000 state-bank deposit commitment plus proof of income or allowance of at least US$3,000 per month. Do not assume it is identical to E33 on work rules — read the E33E page.
How do I get to KITAP?
ITAS (limited stay) can be converted to ITAP/KITAP (permanent stay). Immigration FAQ material for worker, investor, clergy and elderly-tourist paths publishes a minimum of three consecutive years on limited stay. Apply no later than 30 days before the ITAS expires. KITAP validity is five years and may be extended indefinitely while not cancelled.
Where do I apply?
Through the official Immigration e-Visa portal at evisa.imigrasi.go.id — not a broker's mirror site.
