Teaching in Thailand — the centre is the employer

In plain termsLanguage centres and international schools hire foreigners through a Thai entity. That is the local-work door, not a Destination Thailand Visa.

Labour stack

Local employment needs a work permit unless another statutory path applies. Stay and earn stay separate. A DTV does not authorise teaching for a Thai employer.

Reserved list (filed)

Thailand keeps a reserved-occupation list for Thai nationals. The B.E. 2563 notification lists 40 jobs across four schedules. Ordinary language teaching is not on Schedule 1 — but still needs a work permit, and a DTV is not teaching authority.

LTR path

Some LTR categories bundle a digital-work permit. Category fit is not interchangeable with a language-centre hire — read ltr.boi.go.th.
