In plain termsThese three roles are not Schedule 1 walls. They are Schedule 2 conditional reservations: treaty or ASEAN MRA limbs may apply. The carve-out must be real, not assumed.

Start here — three checks

  1. Confirm the Schedule. Absolute Schedule 1 jobs are closed; Schedule 2 needs a matching treaty or MRA path.
  2. Confirm the labour stack. Local hire still needs a work permit unless another statutory path applies.
  3. Confirm the profession law. Separate Thai-nationality-only profession laws can still bar foreigners even when Schedule 2 looks open.

Common questions

Are accounting and architecture banned for foreigners in Thailand?

They are conditionally reserved on Schedule 2, not absolutely reserved on Schedule 1. A treaty or ASEAN mutual-recognition path may open the door — but only if that carve-out actually fits. Do not invent one from a recruiter summary.

Is Schedule 2 the same as a work-permit exemption?

No. Even an open or treaty-conditioned role still sits on the labour stack. Stay and earn remain separate machines.
